BBC RADIO LEEDS local cricket coverage has returned on a Saturday evening between 7 and 9pm (slightly later if a Rugby League commentary is taking place). Scorecard features the main cricket leagues in the region including the SOLLY SPORTS YORKSHIRE ECB COUNTY PREMIER LEAGUE, with a match report and a full league round up towards the end of the programme from our Assistant Secretary (records) Kevin Motley.

Dewsbury Cricket Supplier extends support to biggest league in local cricket
Already sponsors of numerous leagues across Yorkshire, including the oldest cup competition in England The Heavy Woollen Cup, Solly Sports have signed a five year deal to sponsor the Yorkshire ECB County Premier League. The league is the top level of competition for recreational club cricket in Yorkshire and since 1999 has been a designated ECB Premier League. 2009 champions York are looking to extend their winning streak to 4 consecutive seasons in 2010.- The Solly Sports Yorkshire ECB County Premier Cricket League.

- Possibility to sponsor the annual dinner and other League events that may arise within the agreed 5 year period.
- The ball to be supplied for use in the Yorkshire League will be the Oxbridge Buckingham (as presently used) unless by any prior agreement a change is made because of quality, price or any other issue that might occur within this period.
- The balls will not change in terms of quality or source of supply without the prior written agreement of the Yorkshire League management committee.
Yorkshire ECB County Premier League president Dave Sharp (seen here receiving the new Solly Sports League Knock Out Cup Trophy from sponsor Solly Adams at the pre-season meeting) said of the deal "The League are extremely delighted regarding a newly formed alliance with a new sponsor in Solly Sports. It is exhilarating in todays economic climate that people with the sincerity and love of the game of cricket, like Mr Solly Adam, have come forward and supported the Yorkshire League in the way he has done".
Solly Sports proprietor Solly Adam is a well-known figure in West Yorkshire cricket. After a successful 42 year playing career he launched Solly Sports, creating his own line of cricketing clothing, bats and products available in his Dewsbury store. Since his retirement from playing he has become a major supporter of and supplier to local cricket, supporting leagues, teams and even rising stars in the local game.
Regarding the sponsorship deal, Solly says “I am delighted to support the Yorkshire County Premier League, the local game means a lot to me and it is important to ensure Yorkshire’s cricket players are supported at every level, both now and in the future.”
Solly Sports allows any local cricket club in the UK to take part in their ‘Your Club’ initiative, where every order of cricket clothing and equipment with custom printing / embroidery for a particular club will earn 10% of the cost of the item for that club, which can in turn be spent by your club at Solly Sports.
